Cooperation that shapes the future

Burova Technika held a series of lectures for students of the National University «Yuri Kondratyuk Poltava Polytechnic» dedicated to state-of-art technologies used in the drilling of oil and gas wells. The lectures aimed to give young professionals the practical and theoretical knowledge accumulated by the company over decades of work in real, on-the-ground conditions.

During the course of lectures, students learned and explored the company's key areas of business:

✔They gained an understanding how company developed and established itself
Students listened to presentation of Director General Vitaliy Vitryk, as he spoke about the creation and 25-year history of Burova Technika in petroleum industry, as the company grew from a small team to the enterprise trusted in Ukraine and beyond its borders.

 

✔ They familiarized themselves with how the project department works 
In his presentation, Oleh Herus, head of the project department, explained what a working project for well construction is and what tasks and challenges design engineers face. Students learned how the documentation on which the entire drilling process depends is prepared.

 

✔ They learned more about advanced drilling and cementing fluid systems 
Deputy Head of Laboratory Oleksandr Hlushych spoke about the innovative drilling fluid systems used by the company. Students had a look into the mobile laboratory and learned how drilling fluids are analyzed, and what parameters are monitored during the drilling process.

 

✔ They looked into coiled tubing technologies and equipment
Serhii Chekashkin, Head of the Engineering and Technology Service of coiled tubing department, shared his knowledge about the types of coiled pipes, how they are selected and what the main types of downhole tools are. Students gained an understanding of how coiled tubing in Ukraine is used.

 

✔ Key stages of sidetracking were discussed
Andrii Kucher, Deputy Director General for Production, spoke to students about this type of well workover, the required equipment, and the main advantages of this technology, which is relevant today.

 

✔ Students visited the production support base to get a look at the equipment in operation
During the tour, students inspected the coiled tubing unit, visited the drilling and cementing fluids laboratory, and saw the equipment used to mix and clean the fluids.
